Spending time together as a family can be challenging to do sometimes with the busy schedules we keep. Eastwood Local Schools has introduced a new program this year that is aimed to just that--help families connect! The EYSA is asking for all coaches to refrain from any practices this week. If you do schedule anything this week we ask that you please end it by 6pm. Please see the following message from Brian Welker, Eastwood Superintendent, for more information on what to expect:
We are designating the week of March 9-13 as Invest in the Nest Week. During this week each day will have a specific theme aimed to bring families closer together. There will be no homework for the week, and we will be working to get all school activities over by 6:00 PM. We are encouraging parents and kids to unplug for the week. Choice boards will be sent home for families with ideas on possible nightly activities. Here are the themes for each night:
a. Monday – Family Wellness Night – Do something together that promotes physical or mental wellness
b. Tuesday - Family Meal Night – Prepare and eat a meal together
c. Wednesday - Make a Difference Night – Students and parents can work to make a difference in the lives of others. Can be as simple as helping each other around the house.
d. Thursday – Family Game Night – Play some games together. We are working with the libraries to have games available during the evening, and we will also have some at schools available for sign out.
