Coaches, things to keep in mind during scheduling:
-Remember to get phone numbers/email addresses for
ALL OPPOSING COACHES at the scheduling meeting. This information should eventually be available on the ESSL website, but historically it takes awhile and you may need to reach out to them before it is posted. All Eastwood coach contact info can be found
here.
-FIELD SCHEDULING OPTIONS: 8U: 3 total, 1 at Luckey and 2 at SR; 10U: 2 total, 1 at Luckey and 1 at SR, 12U: 1 at SR, 14U: 1 at Luckey. All 12U teams will schedule games on the 12U field in Stony Ridge ONLY for home games. The field at Luckey is for 14U only as all the inner markings and goals are set to 14U regulations. We are no longer using Basic Park, though EYSA owns the goals in the open grassy area so if the field is free and you want to practice there you are welcome to do so. Field lines will not be maintained at Basic, so you cannot use for games.
-Weekday games for 8U and 10U divisions should be scheduled at 5:30 or 6:30 to allow maximum number of games/practices each night. 12U and 14U are not mandated to schedule in these time slots as game run time alone takes 1 hour and 15 minutes and many older teams practice 1.5 hours at a time. There will be less scheduling flexibility for 12U and 14U on weekday nights by not imposing any sort of standard start times. You may need to utilize weekends to offset. For all age divisions, please do not schedule games or practices before 1pm on Sundays.
-When scheduling games, keep in mind the following: In the spring season the weather can cause a lot of rescheduling if we get a lot of rain. While we realize this can be frustrating, we ask for your patience and flexibility. In the fall season it gets dark by about 7:30 towards the end of September so it is a good idea to have earlier start times for games the later in the season you go. You can check
sunset times online to help determine if a potential start time is going to be too late to be completed safely in daylight.
